Freshmen take Social Studies MEAP

October of their ninth grade year.

Freshman and Sophomores take PLAN test

Test is given in early March during the school day. Predicts college readiness and ACT score range.

Also includes a career interest survey.

Juniors take PSAT test

This test is the qualifier for the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Sign up at the north high school office for the PSAT given on the third Saturday in October each year. Cost is $14.00.

Must be a junior to be considered for National Merit Semi-Finalist.

(Sophomores can take the test for practice if they choose to.)

Juniors take MME (Michigan Merit Exam)

This includes a full ACT test on the first day at no cost to students. Scores can be sent to colleges
of their choice.

The MME takes place early in March over three school days. For 2014, the test dates are March 4, 5, and 6.

Juniors and seniors sign up for additional ACT tests by choice.

It is recommended that juniors also sign up for one or two more ACT tests to improve their scores. These additional test opportunities are on Saturdays throughout the year. Check dates and sign up at www.actstudent.org.

Seniors often repeat ACT testing one time in the fall of senior year to further improve their results.

Juniors and seniors may also elect to take an SAT test.

ZAPS Classes at WOHS for ACT prep.

Juniors will receive mailings regarding the ZAPS test prep classes offered at WOHS North Building. ZAPS PSAT prep is given late September. ZAPS ACT prep class is offered late in January. Register and pay for this opportunity at www.zaps.com.
